About Masjid Bait Allah
A dynamic community devoted to developing an Islamic life — on S. Calhoun Street, in the heart of West Baltimore.
Our story
It started with a rented room.
Around 2007, a small group of believers began gathering to pray and to study together in rented space. There was no building of our own — just a handful of people, a commitment to salah, and the intention to learn the deen properly.
The gathering grew. What began as a few rows became a congregation, and the rented room stopped being enough. We searched for a place we could call our own, and after a long look we came across this building and put forth the effort to purchase it.
By the mercy of Allah, that effort succeeded — and the property is now completely paid for. It is a permanent home for the community, and a foundation for everything we hope to build next.

What we stand on
The Book of Allah and the sunnah of His Messenger ﷺ
The masjid operates on the fundamentals of Islam, abiding by the guidance of the Qur'an and the sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. That is the measure we hold our decisions and our programmes against.
An open door
Neighbours, visitors, reverts, and travellers are all welcome. Nobody needs an introduction to pray with us or to ask for help.
Positive change in our city
We intend to keep expanding our services and to bring real, visible good to Baltimore — starting with the blocks immediately around us.

What the masjid provides
These are the things the community can count on, year in and year out.
Five daily prayers
The masjid is open for every salah in congregation, with iqamah times posted on the homepage timetable.
Friday Jumu'ah
Khutbah and prayer every Friday at 1:15 PM. Come early if you can — the hall fills up.
Islamic classes
Qur'an, tajweed, and foundational classes for adults and children throughout the week.
Iftar and tarawih in Ramadan
Nightly meals and tarawih prayers through the blessed month, prepared and served by volunteers.
Zakat and sadaqah
We receive zakat and sadaqah and distribute it to those in need — with priority given to families in our own community.
Funeral assistance
Support with janazah arrangements and help with funeral expenses for families who cannot carry the cost alone.
Financial assistance
Direct help for community members facing hardship — rent, utilities, food, and emergencies.
